Dr Jain completed his residency in Ophthalmology from Columbia University in New York in 1999. He had previously completed MS Ophthalmology from Baroda Medical College in India. His fellowship training was in Corneal, External diseases and Refractive surgery at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School, Boston in 2001 and at The Wilmer Institute, The Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD. At present Dr Jain is an Instructor in Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School, Boston and is on staff at the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary. He is also the Medical Director of Methuen & Stoneham Eye Center. He specializes in the diseases of the external eye, cataract and anterior segment surgery and refractive surgery.
Dr Jain has received many awards. Prominent amongst them are: National Talent Scholarship and Achievement Award of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is a reviewer for many ophthalmology journals such as Ophthalmology, Cornea, American Journal of Ophthalmology and Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. Dr Jain has published more than 20 original papers and authored several book chapters on Cornea and Refractive Surgery. He regularly conducts skills transfer courses in Excimer laser surgery and Corneal Transplantation techniques at the American Academy of Ophthalmology meetings. His research interest is the study of corneal wound healing and avascularity mechanisms.
