1. Yogurt

This is one of the best foods for immunity, and one that our child can easily eat. It is cool, refreshing and can be used in vegetables or salads also. Rich in zinc, yogurt keeps inflammation in the body to a minimum level.

2. Walnuts

Nuts are good for children because they are storehouses of zinc, iron and a lot of vitamins, specially the B kind. Walnuts in particular are rich in omega 3 fatty acids that is an expert ingredient used for fighting respiratory infections. Others, like almonds and peanuts are also immunity-boosting because they have high quantity of Vitamin E.

3. Citrus fruits

This includes lemons, oranges and grapefruits and other foods that have vitamin C. Citrus fruits are great in strengthening the immune system because they encourage production of white blood cells- our body's main antibodies. Eggs are good for your immunity for a number a reasons. First, it is rich in Vitamin A, a nutrient important for your immune system to function well. Second, eggs are good sources of iron and protein, both of which strengthen our immune system and its cells.

5. Leafy greens

Vegetables like spinach, broccoli and kale are superfoods for your immune system because they are rich in folic acid and iron. Folic acid helps our body produce and maintain new cells, including the ones of the immune system. It also prevents changes in DNA that can cause cancer. Iron is also immunity boosting since it increases the supply of oxygen to cells.

6. Sweet potato

Vitamin A based carotenoids that are found in sweet potato are powerful antioxidants that help our immune system fight inflammation. Sweet potato is also good for the immune system because it has another antioxidant called beta-carotene that aids the immune functioning.
