Everything You Need To Know About The Rare Disease - Encephalitis
A couple of weeks ago, more than 70 children died at the BRD Medical College Hospital in Gorakhpur. According to authorities, apart from the lack of oxygen, there were various illnesses that might have caused these children to die. One major cause was a condition called Encephalitis - an acute inflammation (swelling up) of the brain, resulting either from a viral infection or when the body's own immune system mistakenly attacks brain tissue. The usual cause of this rare disease is a viral inflection, and can occur in people of all ages, but children and the elderly are more at risk of being afflicted with the disease.
