Dr VS Ramchandra is Professor and Head of the Department of Cardiology at the Kasturba Medical College, Manipal. He is uniquely qualified in that he has completed American board accredited fellowships in Interventional Cardiology, Clinical Electrophysiology & Pacing and Pediatric Electrophysiology.
He was formerly an associate in Cardiology at University of Alabama at Birmingham and Staff Cardiologist at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. Despite his extensive training in invasive cardiology he is more interested in the preventive aspect of cardiac diseases and is firmly convinced that any large scale impact on the morbidity and mortality of this disease in India, will be through preventive rather than invasive cardiac treatments.
