Ajit Harisinghani is a Speech Therapist with a Master's degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Eastern Illinois University, USA (1973) and has been certified clinically competent in Speech Pathology by the American Speech and Hearing Association. His work experiences in schools, hospitals, and rehabilitation centres in West Virginia, Texas, California, Tokyo, Mumbai, Kuwait and Pune have shaped his present treatment philosophy especially when related to the problem of stammering (or stuttering).
He has written over 50 articles on the subject of speech problems in various Indian and foreign journals and newspapers. He has made two short films on stammering for DD and Zee TV. Recepient of scholarships from the R D Sethna Trust, Mumbai, Eastern Illinois University, Rama Watumull Trust, Hawaii and the Prentke-Romich Award (USA).
He is the author of "How to Stop Stammering" (Popular Prakashan, Mumbai. 2 editions). He has traveled worldwide and assimilated fluency-development techniques from his work in various countries.
