Avoid overexerting yourself while working out

Recently, a woman shot-putter died while working out. She died of cardiac arrest that happened due to overexertion. Often, people do not realize that excessive exercise or any physical activity can lead to overexertion. You should be very careful of your day to day activities, workouts and physical exertion. This feature talks about how you can overcome exertion in your body and stay relaxed. Some of the tips you should keep in mind are:

  1. Limit the amount of weight you carry
  2. Make sure that your toes are always pointing in the same direction like that of your nose
  3. Avoid doing repetitive workouts as they create tension in the muscles
  4. Repeating certain movements for longer duration may increase your stress level
  5. Take breaks between your exercises
  6. Have a good sleep for at least 8 hours
  7. Keep yourself away from fatigue, dizziness etc.

  4. Never lift weights with extended arms
  5. Lift with your legs and not with your back
  6. Check if your footing is solid with your foot- shoulder width apart
  7. Make sure you are keeping the load to be lifted closer to your body
  8. Limit your amount of weight you carry
  9. Keep your manner of walking smooth
  10. Be careful while walking to avoid tripping
