After nearly three months, a new case of H1NI influenza has been reported in Coimbatore, where an eight-month old pregnant woman has been tested positive of swine flu.

After nearly three months, a new case of H1NI influenza has been reported in Coimbatore, where an eight-month old pregnant woman has been tested positive of swine flu. The 29 years old woman, who works in Bangalore was being treated in an isolation ward at a private hospital.

The woman visited Pollachi, where she had developed swine flu symptoms and was admitted to hospital a couple of days ago. Tests confirmed her swine flu status on April 30, and efforts were on to find whether her husband had similar symptoms. Her condition is improving, after administering Tami Flu tablets.

The department is already on alert to prevent spread of any disease in view of the World Tamil Classical conference, scheduled from June 23 and would carry out fresh sensitisation drive to check spread of swine flu.
