Do Amlong and Loser H cause weight gain?
Q: I am a 64 years old male. Will taking Amlong tablet along with Loser H lead to weight gain?
A:Amlong is the brand name; the name of the medicine is amlodipine. Losar-H contains two drugs: losartan and hydrochlorothiazide. Amlodipine (Amlong) can cause slight weight gain due to oedema but will be neutralized by hydrochlorothiazide (a diuretic that increases the urinary output and thus gets rid of excess water). As a result there will be no weight gain.
