Where are the CD4 cells present?

Q: Where are the CD4 T cells present? Are they related to low white blood cells? My 25 years old friend had viral fever leading to joint pain. He got the blood test done, which showed low blood platelets count and his white blood cell (WBC) was 4000. Is there any relation between WBC and CD4?

A:The CD4 T cell lymphocytes are actually one of the white blood cells but of a particular type. They are therefore found in the blood along with other white blood cells. Many infections affect the total cell count in the blood.
