How reliable are HIV tests?

Q: Six years back I met with a family lady. I have undergone HIV tests two times. Both times these are non-reactive. These tests are tridot tests, I believe. My worry is, can I believe these tests? Are they reliable? Can my wife get pregnant? I am newly married. These doubts are not allowing me to sleep. Please advise me.

A:Relax, do not worry. If the tests were done atleast 3 months after the exposure, you do not need to worry. However, please avoid casual sex. The best protection against HIV/AIDS is a mutually completely faithful sex life between partners. Sure you can have children without fear of HIV. Please remember that you have been lucky. Avoid all such risk behaviour from now onwards.
