Why does my daughter prefer to paint with one colour only?

Q: My three years old daughter is a normal school going kid with normal health, normal vision, normal colour recognition and normal behaviour pattern. However, I found it many times that she always prefer to paint with a single colour only - even if, anything is drawn on the canvas. Why does my three years old daughter prefer only to paint with one colour?

A:There is no problem at all. She may not be painting with a colour-she may be painting a colour. Please let her have her freedom. Do not make her paint in the outlines you have drawn for her. Do not instruct and do not make comments if the paintings do not come to your idea of realistic depiction. Children have a much better imagination than adults.
