What is the reason for grey patches in eyes?
Q: I have noticed that my 3 years old son has grey patches in his eyes, around the iris. Why is this and is there any treatment/medication required?
A:The child may have an ‘overflow’ of pigment that is normally present inside the eye. The pigment generally tends to be located near blood vessels as they exit the eyeball. This is a normal occurrence in some people and no treatment is required. However, there are a few medical conditions that look similar, and you are best advised to seek an Ophthalmologist opinion to reassure yourself.
