Warfarin
Q: My Doctor has put me on 10mg of Warfarin sodium. I have protein type C disease. I have noticed yellow color rashes on my skin. I am fair skined. Do you think that Warfarin is to blame?
A:Warfarin sodium is an anticoagulant. Its undesirable effects on skin include rash as an allergic reaction and purple toes syndrome. Skin necrosis within a few days of starting treatment has been infrequently reported, mostly in obese elderly women. The first sign is erythematous swollen patch. In such cases we generally recommend administration of vitamin K-1. Please consult your doctor.
