Is there any surgery to treat dry eye syndrome?
Q: I am a 31 years old male suffering from dry eye syndrome for the last six to seven years though my eyesight is absolutely normal. I generally take Mill eye drop or Refresh tears eye drop as advised by my doctor but these provide only temporary relief. Kindly advise if there is any permanent solution like surgery to my problem.
A:Dry eyes is a condition that can be treated with tear substitutes, such as the one being used by you. You may also consider 'punctal plugs' if this situation demands so. There is no surgery available to "cure" the condition.
