Is a negative Tri dot test result enough to exclude HIV infection?
Q: Once while travelling in a bus, I felt someone prick me with a pin. I had a Tri Dot test for HIV (rapid test for HIV) and the result was negative. Someone told me that it is not a confirmatory test for HIV. What do I do as I am very disturbed?
A:Please do not worry. Your test has come negative and that means that you were not infected by the episode 2 years back. Stop worrying about the past but please ensure that you do not expose yourself to risk by your behaviour.
