How do I regularise my weight with IGT?
Q: I am 41 years old and have been diagnosed with IGT with postprandial glucose level at 180. My weight has always been less than 60 Kgs. After IGT, I went on a diet and had become grossly underweight at 46 kg (with a height of 175 cm). As a result I am feeling dizzy. Please advise a proper diet, which would keep my body weight and blood sugar under normal levels.]
A:The diet in IGT is to normalise weight and blood glucose lipids and BP. Since you are underweight, you should increase the calories so that your BMI is 19-23. Avoid junk food, excess fat and refined carbohydrates, but do take adequate calories. Consume these calories in 06 parts rather than in 3 meals. Avoid being overweight at the same time.
