How do I handle my fears regarding AIDS?

Q: I am a 31 years old unmarried man. I had sex with a prostitute four years back. I used a condom that broke during the act. I had a cut on the head of the penis and also had bleeding. After 2 weeks, I started having penile itching. I went for repeated HIV tests after 3, 6, 9, 18 and 36 months after the sexual exposure and all of them have come out negative. I am planning to get married but worried and depressed about my fears regarding having AIDS. What should I do?

A:As you have been examined and investigated extensively for HIV & other STDs, I see no reason for you to get worried on that count. It does appear that you have got into a complex web of anxiety and phobia. You need to come out of that as fast as possible. Professional help in the form of counselling will surely help you. Please consult a good counsellor at the earliest.
