How can I concentrate on my studies?
Q: I am 25 years old and am unable to concentrate on my studies. I have only one month to complete my syllabus, but am unable to get up in the early morning to study. I sleep late at night, but can't concentrate on my studies. Please help me out.
A:Instead of worrying about passing the exams, which are important for your career, break up the syllabus into small bits and do a little at a time. As soon as you have read a page, write down a brief summary of it in 3 or 4 sentences. Then go on to the next part. Select a few themes which are important in your subject and try and understand them in their essence. This is more important than trying to learn by rote. Write down the main points in each theme and use that to expand your answers. Make sure you get enough sleep and that you have proper nutrition. When you are deprived of sleep, you are at a clear disadvantage for the exam. Set yourself a good routine. Take a few short breaks and do some Yoga or have vigorous physical exercise. Improved circulation will make your brain work better. If you are not able to take this advice, try and see a Psychologist or Counsellor in your city.
