Do negative thoughts influence the fetus?

Q: I am 24 years old and 5 months pregnant. Do all kind of emotions affect the baby once it is born? For instance, if I am always anxious about something and think about or if I am worried about a particular incident - would this affect the baby? This question is asked because many people say that negative thinking during the pregnancy can adversely affect the child? Do our thoughts influence the fetus?

A:Scientifically, your emotions do not have a bearing on the personality of your unborn child. However, if you have negative feelings or depression, that can adversely affect your health, and thereby, affect the well being of your unborn baby. The mantra for a good outcome is to be happy and be positive in your outlook.
