Can a diabetic eat threptin or GMD biscuits?
Q: I am a 20 years old male suffering from type 1 diabetes. My blood sugar levels are well under control; fasting = 68 mg/dL and after lunch =125 mg/dL, on an average. I depend on hostel mess food for nutrition. Can I have threptin or GMD biscuits as food supplements?
A:GMD and threptin are high in protein. You can consume them as per label recommendations for your age and requirement once a day and other biscuits at any other time, maximum four per day. Continue this for six months. Check your weight regularly, consult a general physician and get a blood profile (sugar level) check after that time to be on the safe side.
