Are there any serious side effects reported in LASIK surgery?
Q: My 26 years old wife would like to remove her spectacles by undergoing LASIK surgery. The power of her glasses is -2.5. Are there any serious side effects or problems reported so far in this surgery? What are the odds of getting perfect vision by this surgery?
A:LASIK is a laser vision correction modality, which helps you to reduce your need for glasses. For a power of -2.5 per se LASIK should be able to correct the refractive error. However before a decision regarding the suitability and safety of the procedure can be taken, your wife would need a detailed eye examination by a refractive specialist who would perform a number of eye tests on her. Depending on her test reports the decision to go ahead with LASIK can be taken.
