Will conceiving by Letroz do any harm to my baby?
Q: I am a 28 years old woman and 5 weeks pregnant now. I took Letroz 2.5 mg daily during 2nd to 6th day of my last cycle. Will conceiving by Letroz do any harm to my baby? I had a trans-vaginal sonography (TVS) done yesterday and the doctor said there is a tiny sac measuring 6.2 mm. She asked me to do a follow-up scan after 2 weeks to check for foetal heart beat. Is the 6.2 mm sac normal at 5 weeks of pregnancy? Is it too early to get the scan done?
A:There should not be any harm to your baby due to Letroz. There is no use of doing a scan so early because you hardly see anything. The best time to do a scan when one can confirm the fetal heart beat along with the fetal growth is 7 weeks.
