Why is my fasting sugar level not reducing with medication?
Q: I am suffering from diabetes from the past 8 years. Presentaly I am taking Gladr 4 mg and Gluconorm 1SR, each one tablet in the morning. I am not exercising. Apart from this 1 tab Gardinal 60 mg and one tab Zosertt-100 mg. But my glocose level still remains 300 in fasting. Why is it not lowering?
A:Your fasting value of 300 mg/dl is too high and needs immediate attention. Strict diet, regular exercise and substantial increase in medication (upto double of your present dose). You may need insulin if there is no response. Please contact your endocrinologist.
