Why is my 8-month-old daughter's right eye bleeding?
Q: My 8 months old daughter's right eye has swollen and turned red. There is bleeding from the eye as well. he doctor has prescribed Oflox eye drops thrice a day and Zovirox ointment twice a day. What is my daughter suffering from? Why is her right eye bleeding?
A:The child has severe conjunctivitis, and from treatment pattern I see it to be due to Herpes. You don't have to worry about bleeding, as it will stop once the infection is under control. Keep checking the cornea, it should not develop an ulcer. Prevent child from rubbing the eye. See your doctor periodically.
