Why has the image reduced after retinal detachment surgery?

Q: I recently underwent surgery in the left eye for retinal detachment. Before detachment, the object size was same in both the eyes. But after detachment, the object size was reduced and curved in the left eye. After surgery, the curvature of the objects was reduced to a comfortable level but the size remained small. Will it improve?

A:The image size is reduced or distorted due to scar in the retina and although surgery has been done successfully the scar will take time to heal. This will improve in time but may not get back to original image size. You should take multivitamins which contain antioxidants and this should help in the long run as well.
