Why do my eyes pain and get dry?

Q: I am a 27 years old male, working in an IT firm. I spend long hours in front of the monitor and these days I am experiencing burning sensation in my eyes that is also accompanied by headache. I consulted a doctor and he said that my vision is good, but my eyes lack fluid. The doctor asked me to use refresh tears and blink my eyes frequently. Initially, this helped but the problem has aggravated again. Please help me on this.

A:This is not a serious condition but a bothersome one. Anybody who uses a computer for a long time suffers from effects of dry eyes, especially if the monitor is kept close as it generates heat. Keep the computer as far away from your face as possible and wash your eyes or use any lubricating eye drops such as Refresh tears. Closed office buildings with generated heat and air conditioning makes it worse. This itself wont harm your eyes or your vision. Make sure you wear correct glasses if you need one but even a weak pair of glasses in front of your eyes will create a microenvironment to retain moisture around your eyes and prevent exposure dryness.
