Why do my eyes itch every night?
Q: I have itchy eyes for the last few months. The itching happens only at night, but is occurring almost daily. I have tried antihistamine drops, occasional steroidal drops, but the problem still persists. According to my doctor, it's an allergy. Kindly recommend a remedy for this problem? I have tried cool compress, but that doesn't help much.
A:You may be suffering from dry eyes, which is often associated with allergic conjunctivitis. You would benefit from a trial of tear substitutes in addition to anti allergic drops. It is recommended not to use steroid drops unless the allergy is very severe.
