Why are cholesterol drugs taken before bed time?

Q: Is there any special reason to take high cholesterol drugs at night?

A:There are many medicines for reducing cholesterol levels. None of them, except nicotinic acid, have to be necessarily taken at bedtime though the intake may be related to food. For example bezafibrate is to be taken after meals, fenofibrate with food, gemfibrozil 30 minutes before meals etc.
