Why am I unable to conceive?

Q: I am a 32 years old woman having irregular menses with heavy flow right from the beginning. I got married 11 years back but I am still unable to conceive. I have got all medical tests done like hysterosalpingogram (HSG), test of a piece from inside the uterus, intrauterine insemination (IUI) and all reports were normal. Both my ovaries are fine and the tubes are open too. I also took treatment with hormones and all the reports are normal. My husband’s semen analysis is normal too. I am having high blood pressure and taking Eslotan regularly for the same. I have taken so many medicines to conceive but all in vain. Now I am losing hope. Please advise.

A:You are suffering from a condition called unexplained infertility. The treatment options are to induce ovulation through drugs and intrauterine inseminations at the time of egg formation, if this has been tried and failed, the next option is to go for invitrofertilisation or IVF. The pregnancy rates have improved but may take more than one cycle, and is expensive, so you need to consider feasibility. If all fails, adoption is always an option, so losing hope is not needed.
