When can pregnancy be planned following termination?

Q: I am 27 yrs old. 3 months back I got my pregnancy terminated at 23 weeks as the foetus had spina bifida. All the tests proved it. I have been advised not to conceive for 6 months from August. I got my periods regularly and want to have a baby as early as possible so that I will be mentally alright. Can I go in for a baby from January inspite of the doctors advice. She has advised me to take folate pills before conception. That being the case, can I take the pills from January.

A:You should start the folate pills right away as they are supposed to be started prior to conception. If you are feeling fine you can plan the baby right away.
