When can one conceive after removing copper T?
Q: I am a 31-year-old mother of a 2 and a half year old child. I am using Copper-T (Cu-T) as a contraceptive. We are now planning to have another child. What are the things to be taken care of while going for the removal of Cu-T? How long do we have to wait for conception after removing Cu-T? Will conceiving immediately be harmful to the fetus?
A:It is good to remove the Cu-T during 3rd or 4th day of menses as the os (mouth of uterus) is usually open at this time. There is no harm in conceiving the same month.
