What is treatment for my son's eye problem?

Q: My four-year-old son has a lot of greenish discharge from his eyes accompanied by a lot of itching. His eyes tend to become very small at that time. Though he does not watch too much of TV or computer, the problem still persists. The doctor said that this is a type of allergy, and it will become alright by the age of six or seven years. I am worried that the itching in his eyes might harm his vision. What is the line of treatment for this problem?

A:This may be due to allergy, but there is also frank infection due to which there is discharge. He may need suitable antibiotic drops and ointment for 1-2 months which should clear the discharge.
