What is TIFFA scan?
Q: I am 29 years old pregnant woman and the gynaecologist has asked me to go for TIFFA scan. What is TIFFA scan? Is it necessary to get the TIFFA scan done, if the triple test is negative?
A:TIFFA scan is a targeted fetal anomaly scan to make sure there are no gross or minor fetal abnormalities of the ones that can be diagnosed by ultrasound. Yes, it is safer to have the scan despite a negative triple test, as the reliability of the triple test alone is not sufficient.
