What is the supplement l'Arginine taken for?

Q: What is the dietary supplement product called L-Arginine? I have heard that it has some thing to do with nitric oxide? Is it safe to take one capsule of Arginine 500 mg everyday? What will be the effect of taking one capsule of 50mg Viagra together with L-Arginine?

A:l'Arginine is an aminoacid that is required for growth in infants. In adults, there are some rare disorders where it is administered such as Ornithine Carbamoyl Transferase (OCT) deficiency, severe metabolic acidosis and conditions that give rise to hyperammonaemia. Hence I don't know why would you wish to consume this agent. l'Arginine is a precursor of nitric oxide. The use of nitric oxide donors along with Sildenafil (Viagra) is not permitted. It can lead to serious consequences including fatality.
