What is the solution to obsessive compulsive neurosis?

Q: I am a 32 years old male. I have been suffering from obsessive compulsive neurosis since the past 15 years. I have taken the following medicines as advised by different doctors from time to time: Fludac 20 mg (1 to 4 capsules), Lonazep 0.5 to 2 mg, Revilife 100 mg, Sizodon 0.5 mg, Veniz xr 150 mg. Despite taking all these medicines, there is no change in my situation. In fact, I feel that my problem has only got worse. I have lost interest in everything. I have a very poor memory. Most of the time I just keep lying in bed, thinking of absurd things. I sleep too much. Looking at my condition, my father has asked me to stop all the medicines. According to him, these are drugs and can be very injurious to health. Every one hates me. I have taken a loan from ICICI bank and am unable to pay it back. I am in extreme dilemma and can't even decide whether to commit suicide or not. Due to shortage of money, I can't continue my medicines. Please help.

A:Certain disorders can be very protracted and distressing. I understand that you have been suffering from a few years. However, I am not very sure as to what all treatments you have already tried. Have you tried intensive exposure response prevention or cognitive behaviour therapy along with the medicines. Suicide is not a solution to anything. I would suggest rather than losing hope visit a psychiatric centre and undergo treatment after getting admitted. The best place in India would be the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, at Bangalore. It would worth giving it a try.
