What is the role of endometrialum lining in conception?

Q: I am a thirty years old female and have been trying to conceive for the past two years. I am visiting an infertility centre for the last three months and have tried for intra-uterine insemination (IUI) once. The doctors say that everything is fine but the endometrium size is not up to the mark. Is endometrium size really important for conceiving? The follicle sizes are good and also the endometrium quality is good. I am taking the Premarin and Duphaston before and after ovulation respectively as suggested by the doctors.

A:Endometrium lining is important for implantation of embryo. But in your case, it is not clear whether other factors like fallopian tubes patency and semen analysis is normal or not. In case endometrium is thin, oestrogens can be given to increase the lining. The success of IUI per cycle is only 10 -15%. So you need to try at least four to five more cycles of IUI after checking on other factors.
