What is the reason for frequent abortions?
Q: I am 25 years old. I have been married for 3 years and 2 months now. I conceived after 8 months of marriage but it resulted in an abortion after 15 days. One year later I conceived again but an abortion took place after 10 days. I consulted a doctor but again miscarried the next pregnancy after 2 and a half months. What should I do now? Should I avoid pregnancy for some time? What tests should be done before pregnancy?
A:I can only suggest some preliminary tests which you can get done wherever you live such as thyroid profile, test for antiphoshpholipid antibody syndrome, VDRL, toxoplasma IgG, IgM and karyotyping of both partners. If all these tests are normal you will need to consult an infertility specialist to guide further treatment.
