Q: My dentist has observed that over a period of time the teeth especially on the backside are curving into the inside of my mouth. One wisdom tooth on my left side was removed due to less space problem. Please clarify is this possible? If so, what could be the reasons?

A:It is possible to get the teeth tilted towards the tongue due to erupting wisdom teeth especially if the space required is less than optimum. There could be other causes as well such as bony relationship of upper and lower jaws and muscular activity of the muscles associated with the jaws. This can only be verified upon examination and depending upon severity it can be managed conservatively or by other means.
