What is the Indian equivalent of Tylenol Cold?

Q: I just returned from US to India and am very prone to cold and sore throat. Tylenol Cold (available over counter in US) works the best for me. What is the substitute for Tylenol Cold, which relieves minor aches and pains, headache, sore throat, nasal congestion, cough & impulse to cough? Its ingredients are - Acetaminophen 325 mg in each caplet, Dextromethorphan HBr 10 mg in each caplet, Guaifenesin 200 mg in each caplet, Phenylephrine HCl 5 mg in each caplet. I have used my last tablet today and concerned if I can get the same in India.

A:There is no product exactly identical to Tylenol Cold. However there are many cold and cough remedies in India with minor changes and quite similar to Tylenol Cold. Basically they contain acetaminophen (called paracetamol in India), a decongestant (such as phenylepherine or psuedoephedrine - both are similar and interchangeable) and an antiallergic, antihistamine. The most popular, widely used is Sinarest that contains acetaminophen, pseudoephedrine, chlorpheniramine and caffeine. Its actions are quite similar to Tylenol Cold.
