What is the association between MMR vaccination and autism?

Q: My daughter is four years old and her second MMR vaccination is due. When she had her first one, she had them together as I did not know about its effects on autism. Now for her second vaccine I am worried as our national health programme does not provide separate jabs. I am also tense with the thought that if there is a gap between two vaccines will my daughter be at greater risk of getting any of them? The more I read about it, the more unsure I get. I want my child to be protected and I want her to get the vaccination but please help me decide if having them together is safe or not?

A:MMR vaccine taken together is absolutely safe, its so called association with autism has been proven to be false and based on unsound statistical research. Please go ahead and protect your child.
