What is intra-uterine insemination (IUI)?
Q: I have been married for 4 years and am planning to have a baby for the past 7 months. My doctor suggested I go through a test where the sperms of my husband are collected and inserted into my utreus as the ovulation is normal. I want to know if it is ok and does it have any side effect or should I do it naturally? Please let me know as soon as possible as I have an appointment tomorrow evening and I have to decide. Thank you.
A:This technique is known as Intra-uterine Insemination or IUI. There is no harm in having it done provided there are good sperm washing facilities available. Make sure your tubes have been checked to be normal before IUI is undertaken.
