They are claiming that this water will help the body to maintain its alkaline pH so there are fewer chances of acidity and other gastric related problem? Does water have the capacity to maintain the pH of the body?

A:The entire body’s pH is not the same and certainly not alkaline. The entire GI tract is not acidic (the stomach is but not the oesophagus, for example). Commercial, profit-oriented firms make all sorts of unscientific, unsubstantiated claims such as oxygenated / ionized water!
