What is a dry scoket?

Q: My tooth was extracted 3 days ago but I still have a terrible pain, the same as before an extraction. I am taking antibiotics and a strong pain releiver which helps me for 2 hrs only. I consulted two more doctors and they too do not know why there is a pain. I do not have bleeding or swelling, though there is a little hard ball like thing on the side of the gum. Do you have any solution?

A:I think you are suffering from Dry socket. This is a condition in which blood clot is lost due to some reasons from the extraction socket and the healing is delayed and painful. You need to show yourself to an oral surgeon for this condition.
