What does my son's blood ASO test report indicate?

Q: My 14 years old son's health is decreasing for the last month. He weighs only 40 kg and his height is 5 feet. He has become pale and weak. I have consulted the doctors but sometimes they prescribed a diet plan, sometime vitamins and sometimes worm medicines. So I consulted another doctor and he advised blood ASO test and the result was 1:800. The doctor advised 5 Penidure LA-6 injections at an interval of 10 days. Please advise.

A:Since the boy weighs 40 kg (nearly adult weight), either Penidure LA - 6 (600,00 units) can be given once every two weeks or LA-12 (1,20,000 units) can be given once in 21 days. After about three months, ASO should be repeated. You have not given any history of bad throat, tonsillitis or fever. Normally ASO goes up after these illnesses.
