What does a swollen throat after pregnancy indicate?
Q: My 28 years old wife's TSH level is 19 after pregnancy. Her throat has swollen a little bit. What is she suffering from?
A:Your wife has primary hypothyroidism. Get T4, KFT, Lipid profile, CBC done along with Anti-TPO. Start her on Thyronorm 50 ug daily in fasting state and increase it to 75 ug after two weeks. Next TSH to be done after 6 weeks to titrate dose of Thyronorm.
