What do my serum insulin levels indicate?
Q: I am a 48 years old female. My serum insulin level is 22.28. What does this indicate?
A:Serum insulin alone has no meaning. It depends why this investigation was asked for, moreover, it should be done along with blood glucose i.e. in the same blood sample both insulin and sugar are checked. In metabolic syndrome / PCOD / pre-diabetics etc insulin is relatively high.
