What causes continous buzzing sound in the ears?

Q: My problem is that I am having continous buzzing sound in my left ear for the past 3 days. What could be the cause? I am also getting wax from the left ear. Is it serious? Doctor gave me ear drops to melt wax. Still there is no reduction in the noise. Will it stop only after removing wax completely or there is some other reason for this sound?

A:The wax needs to be cleaned out in any case. After that the eardrum can be evaluated. An Audiogram & tympanogram is needed, after which one can tell you if there is a cure or not.
