What can be done for loss of vision after cataract surgery?

Q: A few years back my mother was operated upon for cataract. After the surgery, her vision did not improve so she started using lenses. Without these she cannot even see the nearest of objects. Is there any possibility for her to get better vision again?

A:It seems your mother had cataract operation by an old technique and that is why she cannot see anything without glasses. She can have another operation in, which a lens implant is inserted in the eye after which she should be able to see better. Even then she may need some glasses but power should not be much. She should see an eye specialist who will examine the rest of the eyes to make sure that this operation is successful.
