What are the treatment options for kidney failure?
Q: My mother is a CRF (chronic renal failure) patient. Will you please refer me the latest treatment for kidney patients other than dialysis or surgery? Right now she is on dialysis.
A:Well, if the kidneys have failed permanently (which is not clear from the information provided about this patient) then the solution is either life long dialysis (haemodialysis or peritoneal i.e. home dialysis) or kidney transplantation - if possible. However, one can expect reasonably good quality and many years of life with either form of treatment.
