Should my wife go for laser eye surgery?
Q: My 28 years old wife has been asked to go in for laser surgery to correct her eyes. The number for her right eye is -6.5 and for the left it’s -0.75. Which is a better option - contact lenses or laser operation?
A:Contact lens wear is reversible i.e. you can take it off after any time if there is problem and after trying this for some time, if she finds it intolerable, then she could try Lasik surgery only for the right eye. As laser surgery has some risks, it should be tried later. A -0.75 D is a negligible defect and laser is unnecessary for this.
